The Mill House
A Grade II listed 17th Century mill house with a natural spring (‘a leat’) running through the garden (and under the house which you can see in the kitchen under two glass floor windows). It’s actually more like a river (approx 15 metres wide x 250 m long) on which you can row a boat, paddleboard etc. We are at the end of a no through road in a pretty village called North Stoke near Wallingford in South Oxfordshire. Central London is very easily accessible and 49 miles away. We have a large driveway with space for trucks and cars.
There are just over 4 acres of land here with the leat (which can be seen from all windows on one side of the house), beautifully tended flower beds, a walled garden, mature trees (including the most fabulous Horse Chestnut), raised beds, a pretty greenhouse, outbuildings, lawns, zip wire, tree platform, woodland area, large pond, numerous streams and tributaries… Two swans live here and their growing cygnet, also geese, ducks, a kingfisher, a heron and even an otter.
The house itself has 7 bedrooms and has very recently been completely refurbished (finished at the end of 2020). There are original fire places, wooden beams, wood burners and not a lot of furniture or curtains at the moment, so very convenient for re-dressing as necessary.
